The Sparks Program is designed for Children at the Kindergarten and 1st Grade level. This is not a Pre-K class. This class will cover simple math and phonics, sight words, exploring the world around you, and other fun activities and simple crafts.
Prerequisites
New Sparks students are expected to be able to recite the alphabet and be able to count to 10 on their own. They should also know the basic colors and shapes and be able recognize most letters of the alphabet and numbers 0 to 9. These prerequisites are designed to help promote an optimal learning environment for the kids who participate. Students who are ready to learn but have not yet mastered these skills will enjoy the Play Time class in which these prerequisites will be taught and reviewed throughout the year.
